Another usual blunder is attempting to rush through the room. This can frequently lead to gamers making errors or coming across tough challenges that they would not have been able to fix if they had taken even more time. Lastly, it is necessary for players to bear in mind that it is a team event and not try to do whatever by themselves. Working together as a team allows players to get rid of obstacles that they could otherwise not have the ability to overcome.

These are simply a few of the most typical mistakes that players make in escape rooms.

Breakout Escape Rooms Reviews

It was my first time doing the escape room and Sam was so helpful the whole time we asked for help! It got me using my brain like never before and we had a lot of laughs! I would definitely come again and hopefully win without help LOL definitely recommend!!

Breakout Escape Rooms Reviews

This is a fun and challenging night out. Sam was friendly, helpful and assisted with guidance with the rooms. I would definitely recommend doing this experience. We will definitely going again.

Our group did the Helter Skelter room, it was definitely a challenge and we had fun just a few things in the room were broken/didn’t work properly. The people running were very nice and helpful, I think if everything was working properly it would be a great room. Thank you for a fun (and very spooky) afternoon!

Breakout Escape Rooms Reviews

My partner and I came tonight to do the helter skelter room. We were extremely disappointed. Some of the puzzles are so worn you can't do/read them or or figure them out. The Games Master wasn't inviting and didn't try to get us into the experience. There was barely any storyline so it wasn't very interactive in that way. There's no time display so you have no idea how long you have left in the room. There's no discernible flow to the puzzles. We looked at the reviews before coming and were excited to try it out, the GM said that this room has been open since September and its their only room currently but you guys clearly don't keep up maintenance on the room. We have done 46 escape rooms and this one was the worst by far. The owner said they want to have the best rooms, they have a long way to go before that happens.

Breakout Escape Rooms Reviews

Our group did the Helter Skelter room. We didn’t escape, and this is my first time not escaping. We were told by the staff member that 1 or 2 groups escape per day, and most people usually get stuck in the 1st or 2nd room — that’s a shockingly low escape rate. Our group has escaped many other challenging rooms successfully, so I don’t feel like this was completely on us. We also didn’t get the usual sit down explanation of locks and expectations from the game master either that we got elsewhere, and so it felt like there was an overall lack of polish. The first part was interesting and a good concept, but the reliance on two groups figuring something out lead to some downtime in one room, and so we asked for a clue needlessly when we just needed to wait. There is no indication of where to actually look to get out of that room. After this, there were too many puzzles that were able to be worked on at once, with no way to determine which clues fit where. Our group was very scattered due to this, which contributed to the lack focus on any one puzzle. We also accidentally managed to bypass an entire puzzle (the chest on the floor), further confusing us (and perhaps showing that the puzzle isn’t necessary?). We left feeling that the room was poorly designed. We still don’t know what all the cans were for. It was disappointing to see that the room was also very run down and damaged after only being open for a year, even certain parts of puzzles (e.g. the nails in the wall in the third room) were broken and falling out of the wall, leading to confusion as to whether certain props were involved with the clues or not. We were also told to leave a box on the wall alone in the third room, which sucks as having the game master chime suddenly in definitely breaks immersion. I deducted a point for this, as it was definitely one of the most damaged rooms I’ve done. If the room was repaired and restored to its intended state, I’d give it a 3, but as-is, I think a 2 is fair. We also spoke to the game master afterwards, who told us he hasn’t done two of the most popular rooms in Sydney (Scram and Mission Sydney). That’s just an aside, but the staff members at other places seem very enthused about escape rooms in general and gave us recommendations.
